![Heart, Sheep Organ, plain](http://www.homeeducationalresources.com/cdn/shop/products/10990_{width}x.jpg?v=1396228718)
A sheep heart is similar in size to a human's heart. It shows the ventricles, aorta, atria, valves, veins, and arteries. It can also be used instead of a cow's heart in dissection labs.
NOTE: Dissection specimens are initially preserved with a formaldehyde solution. Then the solution is removed through a series of water baths before a glycol solution is added to produce a moist, low-fume specimen which can be stored almost indefinitely. All specimens should be used within a year of purchase to ensure the best tissue quality.
